OH GOD, MY KOTO IS CRYING IN CLOSET BACK HOME.

what a time to be alive

We truly do live in a wonderful world.

Man, this song just played on my Galaxie radio station, and it took me way back. I wish teen me understood the significance of these words back then. The advice still holds true, and are pretty profound to have found their way into a Baz Lurhmann song. Huh.

Thank you. I did indeed make them! However, I need to clarify - they are not real papercraft. That’s why they are also tagged with “photoshop” They’re all digital, except for Jupiter’s earrings, which are a photo of small ribbon roses.

I have a huge stash of high-resolution paper textures, so I block out the shapes in photoshop and then mask each layer off with a drop shadow and a piece of decorative paper from my collection that is appropriate. Tissue paper for the sheer sleeves, raffia papers for straight hair, marbled papers for wavy hair, metallic gift wrap and gold-leaf papers for the accessories, etc. :)

They’re still really lovely, photoshop or not. Probably not so difficult to reproduce in actual paper either… I actually have a box of wallpaper cuts squirrelled away at home i’ve been meaning to do paper-craft senshi with, but unfortunately it’s about 6000 miles away on the other side of the planet, so I haven’t gotten very far with it! One day! :)

Looooove!

You guys need to check out my friend Sarah’s style blog. It’s just taking off, and I think you’ll find some really useful tips. Sarah has been of my best friends for ages now, and over the years has really developed a love for fashion and style, all while keeping it on a modest budget (yay for sales!). Check it out, she’s awesome, and beautiful.

Can I just say that I am very happy that Dancing Alone to Pony is still posting.
